NEW! Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color & Nail Art Color N

As a fan of both Anna Sui and red blushes, there is no way I will let pass the new Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color!! It is available in 6 variations, mainly pink, orange, coral, red, brown and lavender + blue (for highlighting).

I picked up #400, a combination of pink, rose and red.

Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color #400, 6g, $49 each

Casing is quite standard for Anna Sui

I swatched the 4 colors in the palette separately first:

In artificial white light

The pink on the far left is really a shimmer. The rest of the colors look like a variation of reds to me -- even the rose color in the palette turn out red at the back of my hand.

Natural daylight

The following 2 photos show how the cheek color looks when all 4 shades are mixed together.

In artificial white light

In natural daylight

#400 might look very red when swatched, but the intensity of the color could be easily controlled. I applied the colors thick so that they will show up in the photos. I have many friends who have the impression that red blush is too red, which I totally disagree. Red blush is really very natural (depending on how much you apply). Just like Benefit's famous benetint… it's supposed to be very natural, and it's red!

I definitely like the Rose Cheek Color better than the old range Anna Sui Color Accent because the pigment is better, has a little bit of shimmer, lasts longer, and the color shows up clearer!

I also couldn't resist picking up some nail colors, in the new packaging :)

Anna Sui Nail Art Color N, 8ml, $24 each

#071
Glossy opaque black

Some might be curious why I would choose such a plain black from Anna Sui. Well, just like reds, I prefer to buy from a good brand where intensity of color is achieved with just 2 coats :)

#270
Medium berry, more to purple than pink

What I really like about these polishes is that the finish is really really glossy! Both colors I applied 2 coats without top coat, and they are already super shiny. The polish in the 2 photos are surface dry, but they remain glossy enough for me not to put top coat after painting!

The formula is good and easy to apply. The brush is ok, though not as good as OPI's blushes, but good enough to apply streak free nail polish.

I am very happy with my purchase this time!

Etude House Welcome to Wonder Lip Land Lip Palette

I seldom buy lip palettes, because I have always felt that it's kinda unhygienic… but the Etude House Welcome to Wonder Lip Land palette is too awesome to miss!!

It retails for only $39 in Singapore, and has 18 colors. Even if the price is more expensive in Singapore as compared to Korea, I find it a good price still!

Paper packaging is kind of nice

The great thing about this palette is that the color you see in the palette is more or less the color you get when applied to lips. The pigment is good and colors are vibrant. The 12 shades on the left side of palette (smaller rectangles) are lipstick texture, colors more intense, quite matte, and less moisturising. The rest of the 6 shades (right side of palette, squares) feel more like lipgloss, 2 of which are shimmer lipgloss and more to sheer.

This palette is already sold out in most outlets in Singapore. According to a friend who asked the SA in the shop, she said that this is not a limited edition in Korea, but they always bring in this product to Singapore during the Christmas season. The palette is very popular, for the obvious reason :) Good quality and rather reasonable price!

If you are lucky, you might still be able to find one in the stores :)

New! Maquillage Essence Glamorous Rouge

I received the sample of all 6 shades of Maquillage's latest Essence Glamourous Rouge after purchasing 2 of the actual size a few days ago (with vouchers again lol, this time from husband --> this is the only good thing about using credit cards… you get to redeem vouchers)!

Maquillage Essence Glamorous Rouge, 6g, $43 each

I seldom rave about lip colors, except for maybe Lavshuca's Moist Melting Rouge, because lip products are quite the same, most of the time.

HOWEVER! This is one of those collections that I just feel like getting all the shades - great colors, great texture, great shine --> everything!

There is a special ingredient in this essence rouge called Bounce Hold Coating Silicon, that works to plump up lips, giving it a fuller 3D effect that is similar to cosmetic lip treatments (according to brochure).

The shades in the swatch might look a bit more intense than the photos below, because I applied the colors thickly.
(click on photo to get a better view of the shades ^_^)

Original lip color

RS794 Blush Rose

PK393 Hot Pink - I got this: not that 'hot pink' in my opinion, very wearable!

RS595 Rouge Rose - this is my favorite color! Too bad I didn't get it :(

OR292 Tint Coral - there is always one of these shades in all new lip color collections.
A 'safe' color. Good for most skin colors and most makeup looks. I got this too.

RD791 Harmonious Red - erm… is this a red?

BE790 Nude Glamour Beige - a brownish beige

My lips look really plump and juicy after application. The shine is exceptional (like mirror), and the texture is comfortable, not too sticky, and moisturising. The rouge lasts well too. I didn't touch up for a good few hours, till after meals.

I would probably have to hand over all my ATM cards to my husband, and cut up my credit card, to prevent myself from getting the rest of the 4 shades :)

NEW! Esprique Blend Dimensional Eyes & Mellow Forming Rouge

It's awesome whenever I get free Isetan vouchers!
This time, I redeemed an eyeshadow palette and lipstick from Esprique's latest makeup collection!

The black glossy packaging is sleek and classy

Blend Dimensional Eyes A-4 (Shiny), $39

I am really into neutral shades recently. Browns, beiges and nudes sound good to me! Exactly why I picked out the Blend Dimensional Eyes in A-4 (Shiny). The Blend Dimensional Eyes come in 2 ranges, the 'Shiny' range and the 'Deep' range. I guess the names are pretty self explanatory :)

Left to right: champagne, white, greyish pink, medium brown

The colors are more to frosty, but shimmery at the same time. They are not as brown/ beige as you see in the 1st and 3rd photos. There is this 'dusty' quality to the colors, especially the 2 colors from the right of the swatch photos (greyish pink & medium brown).

The finish is not intense at all, quite sheer in fact. The medium brown color could be layered to create more depth, but definitely not dark enough to use as eyeliner. I tried using the palette without eyeliner, and I looked pretty sleepy the whole day! LOL! Black eyeliner is a must for this palette.

Texture is good and easy to apply. Shades could be applied evenly easily.

Palette comes with an useful plastic sheet with application pointers

Mellow Forming Rouge RO610 (Glow), $39

I love this lipstick range!! It comes in 2 categories as well, the 'Glow' range and the 'Color' range. The colors for the 1st range are lighter, whereas those in the latter range are more intense.

The texture is very much like Lavshuca's Moist Melting rouge, just even softer. The lipstick texture is like snow, and color glides on effortlessly. It's also very very moisturising. However, due to its meltingly soft texture, I am quite sure I will reach the end of the tube rather quickly.

Natural lip color

After

Color wise, RO610 is a nudy pink. Nothing intense, just really plump looking lips after application. This shade will go super well with smoky eyes. I love this! If only I had more vouchers, I would collect more of these!

Jill Stuart 2011 Fall Makeup Collection: Prism Carat Eyes

Jill Stuart Prism Carat Eyes, 7g each

For Jill Stuart's Fall Makeup Collection, the Prism Carat Eye caught my eyes the most! Known for its brilliant eye makeup colors, I had high expectation that these will add a brilliant sparkle to the eyes, especially when it is called 'carat' eyes :) They come in 5 shades, and I got 3 of them.

Each eyeshadow jar comes with 2 colors in 2 textures. The 1st being an eyeshadow powder, the one that gives off a beautiful sparkle, while the 2nd a cream eyeshadow, and carries the 'main color'.

Swatches first!

101 Brilliant Crown

Eyeshadow powder - dark moss green

Cream eyeshadow - golden orange

101 Brilliant Crown has a sophisticated color combination. The cream eyeshadow is a rather light golden orange frosty shade. When applied on skin, it is quite close to my skin color, not as bright as I had imagined when I first looked at pictures. The powder eyeshadow is a dark moss green with gold and orange shimmer (lots of it)! The powder is pigmented and intense upon first application, so I guess a little goes a long way.

104 Twinkle Cross

Eyeshadow powder  - greyish silver

Cream eyeshadow - berry pink

104 Twinkle Cross is a gorgeously romantic, yet mysterious color combination. The cream shadow is a berry pink with a little silver shimmer,  and the eyeshadow powder is a greyish silver with lots of sparkles, mainly gold and silver.

105 Radiant Corsage

Eyeshadow powder  - silver sparkle

Cream eyeshadow - chocolate brown

105 Radiant Corsage creates the most brilliant smoky eyes. Best for functions/ events when you are going for that smoldering and sexy look :) The cream eyeshadow is a dark chocolate brown with silver shimmer. It is an interesting color as it looks brown on my hand, but seems grey on my eyelids. The brown is slightly sheer, and I layered on a lot when I was testing it out. It's one of those shades that will look washed out if you apply too little, as it looks much better as dark and intense. The eyeshadow powder adds more sparkle to the eyes than color. It's a silver with silver and golden sparkles.

(you might want to click on image to get a better view ^^)
*Note: 104 is Twinkle 'Cross', not Twinkle 'Rose', my mistake!

Which color do you think I used in the 2 photos above??

105 Radiant Corsage!!! See what I mean when I say the cream shadow looks a bit greyish on my lids? ^_^

As for the texture of the eyecolors, I think it is easy to apply quite evenly with the cream eyeshadows, with the exception of 105 Radiant Corsage, where the brown looks slightly blotchy if I don't layer on. The powder eyeshadow is easy to apply with fingers, but if you want precision, I guess a brush will be good too. But like all powder eyeshadows, do be careful of fallouts as you apply!!

As the powder eyeshadows are so sparkly and will make anyone look glamourous in seconds, I don't think Prism Carat Eyes is suitable for everyday wear… but they are so pretty that I can't wait to find a chance to wear them out!!
