Coffret D'or 2011 Spring Collection: Beauty Sharp Designer in 03 Rose Red and Eye Appeal Shadow in 01 Sweet Brown

I had been waiting for this package, and it finally came today! Totally cheered me up from the Bird's Nest allergy incident =)

Beauty Sharp Designer in 03 Rose Red, HKD295 from Adam Beauty

For creating a more 3D face shape
The brown strip below the blusher is used for creating highlights (the lightest shade) and shadows at the jawline for the look of a smaller face (darker shades)

A soft flush for the cheeks, more coral than rose in my opinion. This pic shows all colors mixed

Color can be built up for a more intense look

I like this blush the moment I swatched it on the back on my hand. I can imagine how soft and pretty the color will turn out on my cheeks. I can't wait to test it out on my face! Personally I don't really think I will use the colors separately because the colors are pressed quite closely together and I will find it tiresome to dip each color individually with my brush.

Eye Appeal Shadow in 01 Sweet Brown, HKD295 from Adam Beauty

As usual, very shimmery and good quality eye shadow from Kanebo

I think the most unique shades in this palette is the light pink and dark liner color. The pink is to the cool side, with a tinge of purple. The shimmer is crazy! The dark liner color looks dark grey in the palette, but when I swatched it, it looked purplish brown! I love it =) The texture of these 2 shades is different too; I believe they are semi-cream, unlike the other 2 colors which have a more powdery texture. I think this palette has an awesome combination and doesn't look boring at all... not like the usual pink and brown combinations.

I chose the black casing for the blusher and white one for the eyeshadow. The black one looks very sophisticated and the white extremely chic. It's not plain white, but has an iridescent glow (pink and blue) to it.

Thumbs up for the Spring Collection. I will buy the 04 Nude Beige and 05 Mint Purple for the eyeshadow next month as well, if Adam still has stock then! To be honest, I thought the collection would not be very exciting when I saw it online, but when I swatched it, my view totally changed. It's just the same with the Lunasol Aurora Eyes. I think for Kanebo eyeshadows, they might look boring in pictures, but once you swatch them and see the colors in person, you will definitely fall in love with them!

I will do a simple tutorial using the 01 Sweet Brown once the swell of my eyes subside, which I hope will be soon!

LOTD: Coffret D'or C-curve Eyes #07 (limited edition)

This is the look I had for work today! Of course, I didn't wear the false lashes to work, but I just soooo felt like wearing them that I put a pair on after work to take these photographs. I am so depraved of wearing false lashes! But then, I think I chose the wrong design because the lashes kind of covered the nice plum color of the eyeshadow when I opened my eyes...

Ok pictures first!

Arghhh... sorry my eye looks so red and tired... oh but then, I am really tired =) Anyway, to wear this pair of falsies, I should wear lower lashes as well, so as to balance out the long upper lashes.

I had to edit the background of the photos because my house is really messy at the moment. Didn't do a very good job of it though. My apologies!

This is the main eye palette I used:

Coffret D'or C-curve Eyes #07 (limited edition)

From left to right, top to bottom: shimmery black (liner color), shimmery light pink (c-curve color), sparkly lavender, shimmery plum

The c-curve color's texture is semi-cream. When you touch it, it is slightly wet; but when you apply it, it becomes power, therefore it gives you longer wear! The sparkly lavender (more cool then warm) applies powdery and prone to fall outs (as like all sparkly shades), so I recommend using a good primer for all the C-curve palettes. The shimmery plum (reddish tone) is more silky in texture, very smooth and easy to apply.

Comes in a very slim casing

I didn't attempt anything special with this palette. After applying my Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion, I applied the sparkly lavender to my inner crease, all the way to the middle lid. Then, I blended the plum from middle lid to outer lid. After that, I used a small blending brush and applied the black liner color to the outer corner of my eye lid in circular motions. The method I used is exactly the same as how I did it in my Barbie Doll Look tutorial (the way I applied the grey shimmery shadow). Then I lined my lower lash line with the plum, then black, then added the lavender to the inner corners. Last, I applied the c-curve color as highlight to my brow bow area and area under my eyes (putting the color there will instantly brighten up your eyes, as well as cover any dark circles (a little ^^).

I love this look. I find the colors slightly similar to my Purple Jewel Smokey Eyes tutorial, only less dramatic and easier to wear!

Products used:

Eyes:
1) Coffret D'or C-curve Eyes #07
2) Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion
3) Ardell lashes 120 Demi Black

Cheeks:

As mentioned in my previous post, I purchased the Coffret D'or C-curve Eyes #06 as well.

Left to right, top to bottom: Shimmery bronzy dark brown (liner color), shimmery light lemon (c-curve color - you can't really see its lemon, as I think it really looks like regular shimmery highlight color when you apply it), sparkly silvery lemon (I am not sure if lemon is the right word... maybe its champagne??), shimmery taupe brown (almost metallic)

Are you going to get any of these palettes? =)

Quick updates!

It's been almost a week and I have not been able to update my blog! GRRRRR...

Apologies to anyone who has been waiting for more tutorials etc... (hopefully there are?!)

I should finally be able to take a breath from tomorrow onwards and hopefully I will be able to post some new tutorials. I just have so many ideas but not the time to do it -_-

I am looking forward to posting a tutorial on mascara application this week =D

Quite random, but this is what I got from the postman today! YAY! I am going to use the brown palette tomorrow! Got mine from Adam Beauty.

Video Tutorial: Barbie Doll Look

I didn't expect myself to be uploading this video so soon... but because I was so excited about this look, I finished editing it yesterday! So here it is!

I really had lots of fun doing this look, as I seldom wear bright color lipsticks and I like this lipstick from Laneige a lot! I think I have gotten the lighting and all better this time. What I need to do next is to figure out how to film this in HD. Managed to do it by accident when I was doing the Princess Party Look ^^;

ENJOY!

Swatches for Majolica Majorca Jewelling Eyes 2010 Autumn Release

Today I walked by Watson's and spotted the new autumn release for the Majolica Majorca Jewelling Eyes. Each palette retails at S$27.50. Here are the swatches of the 3 palettes.

GN-791

BR-792

BR793

The shadows are well pigmented and the colour payoff is good, except for the lightest colour of each palette, where the powder is less fine and more like sparkles (but this is normal for most sparkly shades). I would recommend the palettes to those who do not own palettes of similar colour combinations.

I would have picked up all palettes if not for the fact I feel most of the palettes look somewhat similar to what I already own. For example, GN-791 looks similar to Chanel's Les 4 Ombres in 16 Murano, BR792 similar to Visee's Glam Hunt Eyes in G-7 and BR793 similar to Coffret D'or's C-Curve Eyes 04. Here are some pics of each palette mentioned.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 16 Murano

Visee Glam Hunt Eyes in G-7

Coffret D'or C-Curve Eyes in 04

What I mean by the palettes looking similar is not that the colours are the same, but more of the colour combinations being sort of similar. Like for GN-791 and 16 Murano, pink matched with green. BR-792 and Visee G-7, light pale pink matched with different shades of brown. And BR793 and C-Curve Eyes, orange matched with brown.

Of course, the actual colours are still different and the shades are really pretty. So if you are a huge fan of Majolica Majorca, I would say go for it!
