O.P.I Pirates of the Caribbean Collection + O.P.I Silver Shatter

O.P.I's latest collection: Pirates of the Caribbean is an AWESOME range ~
I would describe the colours from this range to be 'chalky', as I can really imagine using these colours on the chalk board ~

The formula is good and easy to apply. The colours look 'bumpy' on my nails, not because the formula is streaky or anything, but because my nails are artificial... still haven't removed my gel nails yet. The surface of my gel nails is not exactly even.

O.P.I Pirates of the Caribbean Collection + Silver Shatter

The colours are applied without top coat.

Sparrow Me the Drama, P15

2 coats

Sparrow Me the Drama is a muted purplish pink. I find myself drawn to this the more I look at it =) Any pink lovers would adore this!

Stranger Tides, P17

3 coats, I think 2 coats should do on natural nails.

This happens to be my favourite colour of the lot! Just a glance of it the colour is light grey. But when you look closely, it is actually a greenish grey! This is a really unique colour to me =)

Mermaid's Tears, P18

2 coats

Mermaid's Tears was the first colour that caught my attention. It is a pastel dusty green that looks surprisingly flattering on my nails. The SA told me this is one of the more popular shades in the collection. The colour looks slightly lighter and dustier in real life.

I didn't buy Planks a Lot (dusty medium purple), Skull and Bones (light grey) and Steady as a Rose (light pastel pink). I thought the colours are a little common. I took out some of my own older colours to play with the Silver Shatter.

Thumb: China Glaze Light as Air

Middle: OPI Stranger Tides
Ring: OPI Mermaid's Tears
Little: Nubar Citadel

OPI Silver Shatter

The OPI Silver Shatter is just as cool as the Black Shatter. Just like the Black Shatter, the Silver Shatter 'cracks' into silver pieces on nails after a thin layer is applied and dried. It works best with pastel/ chalky/ dusty shades to give nails a mysterious look (if that is possible...?) So fitting for the Pirates of the Caribbean range!!

Without flash

With top coat for a glossy finish. I personally prefer the look with top coat.

Nice work, OPI. I am in love with you again.

Review: Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Mask

This is currently one of my favourite sheet masks. It mainly soothes and hydrates dry skin. The mask is made of thin fibre which ensures best penetration of essence into the skin; and the mask is cut precisely to ensure that it fits and covers the face well. It contains 30ml of product per mask.

This mask caught my attention when it was put as one of the best buys in Sasa. It was selling at only $1.95 per piece! The original prices is $20+ for 6 pieces. So $1.95 is indeed quite a good price. The promotion is currently still on at Sasa!! I am thinking of going back to get more (I only got 3 to try), but oh well... I still have a lot of other masks to use...

I really love this mask because of these reasons:
1. Affordable
2. Fast absorption
3. Fresh feel after use
4. My skin was smooth, hydrated and visibly brightened!

Now, how could anyone be not tempted to get this mask?? =D You could read up more about their products here.

Ettusais Medicated Skin Care: To Combat Adult Acne Problems

After finishing my Laneige White Plus Renew trial kit, I decided to try something affordable (as compared to SK-II, Kose, Shiseido etc) to control my adult acne problem. I don't have lots of acne (thank god), but I do get some really irritating ones, especially on nose and area above/under the lips. Those really take a long time to heal!

The most straight forward choice is Ettusais' Medicated Skincare range. I have started using this range for 2 days. I will write down my initial impressions first, and update 2 weeks later =)

Medicated acne nighttime defense powder, White shooter dual effect, AC skincare skin version up extra, Pore care wash

Pore care wash, 125ml, $30

10 cent coin amount for each wash (ok, I squeezed out slightly more here)

Creates a fluffy rich foam with water

From website:
"How it Works:
It cleanses deeply thanks to fluffy foam that catches “unsaturated fatty acid”, the cause of enlarged pores, while gently lifting away impurities. It fights acne bacteria and moisturises with AC Control Oil. IT also conditions rough skin with jojoba oil and does not rob skin of needed moisture."

My 1st impression: This facial wash is very foamy and seems to cleanse really well. Skin feels smooth and pores seems smaller... or am I thinking too much? But skin definitely looks clearer. I like the smell of the cleanser. Smells herb-y... or maybe its the scent of medicated skincare...

AC skincare version up extra, 85ml, $37

Semi-translucent skin softener

From website:
"How it Works:
Soften your skin's surface layer, with this softener. It will penetrate rapidly into the skin after washing your face, optimizing your skin's natural moisture absorption strength so that it absorbs all the goodness of your moisturizer. Prevents pimples as it keeps the skin dewy fresh."

My 1st impression: The softener looks like emulsion, but feels quite watery on skin. Takes a while to be absorbed into skin, so requires a little massaging. No visible effect yet, but texture feels light and not sticky/ oily. Skin feels fresh after application. 1-1.5 pumps to be applied with hands.

White shooter dual effect, 170ml, $43

Translucent and watery!

From website:
"How it Works:
This extremely lightweight moisturizer prevents blemishes from occurring! It has AC control oil which helps to seal the moisture and the goodness of your moisturizer in. It has vitamin C and other brightening ingredients that heal blemishes, lighten acne scars and helps to prevent pockmarks!"

My 1st impression: This is a toner + moisturizer. This is applied after the softener Version up extra. Although texture is watery, it feels moisturising after application. It takes a while to be absorbed. Quite fresh on skin. SA told me that if I want to apply any essence I should apply it after this. For night time, I might want to apply an additional layer of moisturiser if I sleep in an air-conditioned room. So far so good but nothing extraordinary yet. I pump 3 pumps of this onto facial cotton and pat the product into skin. For better absorption, I follow with my usual mini facial massage (10 secs).

Medicated acne nighttime defense powder, 8g, $40

Looks like baby powder!

From website:
How it Works:
A medicated skincare powder that protects your skin from pimples and roughness all night long. The ultra fine powder particles lock moisture in the skin's keratin layer while smoothening out rough skin. Greet each day with fresh and oh-so-smooth skin!

My 1st impression: Easy to apply and removes any dewy/ oily feeling after moisturizer application. I don't like the smell of it though. There is a faint, weird smell as I apply it. I really can't describe it, but I just don't like it.

All the products are oil free, non-comedogenic and colorant free. SA told me all products should last up to 3 months. I will update 2 weeks later!

I just love chiffon tops and mesh skirts~

Simple but interesting 'ruffles' in front

I got the chiffon top from another of my favourite blogshop Her Velvet Vase. The skirt is from Valerie. The original price is SGD39.90. I had a SGD15 voucher, and only paid SGD24.90 for it =D

NOTD: Pink Glitter Gel Nails

As I was watching the K-drama Prosecutor Princess last week, I wouldn't help but notice all the wonderful shoes and beautiful nails actress Kim So Yeon had in the show. There is no way I could afford all the designer shoes she wore, so I stared at my horrible nails instead and told myself that I have to have my nails done, soon.

So today, I finally spoiled myself to the service at Nail Palace, and got myself a beautiful set of gel nails done (beautiful to me).

I am surprised I ended up with pink glitter nails. Can't be more "boring" than that! Initially, I wanted french tips, just like Kim So Yeon in the show. But then the manicurist told me they don't do gel french tips -- they will just paste white nail tips then do gel overlay, something that I don't really want, so I somehow chose pink glitter in the end. Now come to think of it, I should have chosen green glitter instead!! Much more unique that way =)

But then, I am still happy with the result -- long shiny nails, something I haven't had in a long long time... I know I will face the consequences (thin ugly nails again) when I get them removed, but right now, I enjoy looking at them...
